GutFeel Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Prescient Apps, LLC (“Prescient Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our“) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with the GutFeel mobile application, the gutfeel.ai website, and related services (collectively, the “Service“). By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy.
Because GutFeel is a wellness tool, some of the information you choose to provide is health-related and sensitive. We treat it accordingly, as described below.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name (or the private relay identifier you choose), email address, and an authentication identifier. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google password.
1.2 Health and Wellness Data You Provide. The core of the Service is data you choose to log: meals and ingredients (including photos or descriptions of food), symptoms (e.g., bloating, pain, fatigue), bowel health entries, mood, energy, hydration, supplement details, onboarding responses (e.g., diagnosed conditions you select, symptom patterns, goals), and messages you send to the AI coach.
1.3 Apple Health Data (Optional). With your explicit permission, we read from Apple Health: steps, sleep, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, active and basal energy, exercise minutes, and stand hours. We only read this data; we do not write to Apple Health. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health. We do not use Apple Health data (or any HealthKit data) for advertising, marketing, or data mining, and we never sell it or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
1.4 Community Content. Posts, comments, and reactions you share in community features, along with the display name and avatar you choose.
1.5 Purchase Information. If you subscribe, our payments infrastructure receives subscription status and transaction identifiers from Apple. We never receive your full payment card details.
1.6 Usage and Device Information. App interactions and feature-usage events, crash reports and diagnostics, device model, operating-system version, app version, language, time zone, and push-notification tokens.
1.7 Feedback. Feedback you submit through the app (including the reason and message you provide).
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide the Service — operate meal scanning and analysis, compute your gut score, sync and display your logs, generate coaching responses, deliver recipes and meal plans, and maintain your account;
- Process food photos and questions with AI — meal photos, descriptions, and coach messages are processed by automated AI systems to generate the analyses and responses you request;
- Personalize your experience — tailor content, phases, recipes, and suggestions to the data you have logged;
- Send notifications — with your permission, deliver reminders and updates (you can disable these at any time);
- Process subscriptions — manage entitlements and restore purchases;
- Improve and secure the Service — debug, analyze aggregate usage, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms;
- Communicate with you — respond to support requests and feedback;
- Comply with law — meet legal, regulatory, and safety obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health data for third-party advertising. We do not use your identified health data to train generalized AI models.
3. Legal Bases (EEA/UK Users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases: (a) performance of a contract (providing the Service you request); (b) consent — which is the basis for our processing of health data (GDPR Art. 9(2)(a)) and Apple Health access, and which you may withdraw at any time; (c) legitimate interests (securing and improving the Service, preventing abuse), balanced against your rights; and (d) legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We share personal information only with:
4.1 Service Providers (Processors). Vendors that process data on our behalf and under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations:

4.2 Other Users. Content you post to community features is visible to other users, along with your chosen display name and avatar. Your health logs, scores, and coach conversations are never visible to other users.
4.3 Legal and Safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or the Company.
4.4 Business Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred, subject to this Policy or successor terms providing at least comparable protection, with notice where required by law.
We do not share personal information with data brokers, and we do not permit third parties to collect data through the Service for their own advertising purposes.
5. International Transfers
We are a U.S. company and process data on servers in the United States. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or other jurisdictions with transfer restrictions, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent mechanisms with our processors.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Health and wellness logs are retained so the Service can show your history and trends. When you delete your account (available in-app: Profile → Delete Account), we delete your personal information — including your health logs, coach conversations, and community identity — from our production systems, subject to (a) limited residual copies in backups that are purged on a rolling basis, and (b) records we are legally required or permitted to retain (e.g., transaction records, security logs), which we keep only as long as necessary for those purposes.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), authenticated APIs, access controls, and least-privilege service credentials. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; you use the Service at your own risk to the extent permitted by law.
8. Your Rights and Choices
8.1 All Users. You may: access and update profile information in the app; delete your account and data in-app; revoke Apple Health access in iOS Settings; disable push notifications in iOS Settings; and manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store settings.
8.2 EEA/UK/Swiss Users (GDPR). You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
8.3 California Users (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know, correct, and delete the personal information we hold about you, the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” (we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CPRA), the right to limit use of sensitive personal information (we use it only to provide the Service you request), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
8.4 Japan (APPI). Users in Japan may request disclosure, correction, or cessation of use of their personal information as provided by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
To exercise any right, use the in-app tools or contact us at ceo@prescientapps.com. We will verify your request (typically by confirming control of the email associated with your account) and respond within the time required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 (or the higher age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Push Notifications and Analytics Choices
Push notifications require your opt-in and can be disabled at any time in iOS Settings. Analytics collected through the Service are used in aggregate to understand feature usage and improve the product; we do not use cross-app tracking for advertising purposes.
11. Do Not Track
The Service does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as no uniform standard has been adopted. We honor legally required opt-out preference signals where applicable.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect, and, where required by law (including for new uses of health data), we will obtain your consent. The “Effective Date” above reflects the latest revision.
